Facebook is building a standalone app lasso to compete with video lip syncing app TikTok to get the teens back on the Facebook platform.

TikTok has 15 sec video making capabilities where user can sync their creativity to the background music and it’s a hit in US, Europe and China.

TikTok has more than 500 million users worldwide and recently got acquired by Chinese firm Bytedance for $1 billion.

Facebook has started building the music apps by 2016 with the collaboration of major music titles like Warner Music Ink, Universal Music Group, Sony etc..

According to a report, “It’s basically TikTok/Musically. It’s full-screen, built for teens, fun and funny and focused on creation. A lot of what they’re doing is just trying to be cool.” This new product is being built by members of Facebook’s video and Watch team.Amazon ad

Facebook in past copied features like “stories” from Snapchat and implemented Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp.

There are several lip sync apps available on App store like Starmaker, Dubsmash, Lip Sync Legends, and Mustar.

Recently TikTok raised more than $3 billion for expansion and now its world’s most valuable privately funded startup with $75 billion market valuation.

The social media giant Facebook is bringing back the music on the platform with the  help of lasso what MySpace did in 2005.
